Please join us for our 20th Annual Vigil & Advocacy Day Martin Luther King, Jr. Day - Monday, January 21, 2013 in Richmond VA.
On January 21, 2013, we will honor the memory and teachings of a great nonviolent leader lost to gunfire by traveling to the State Capitol in Richmond to advocate for sensible gun laws. Sadly, more than 40 years after Dr. King's assassination, violent and deranged individuals continue to gain easy access to guns in Virginia and the United States as a whole.
Please join us that day at 12:00 PM for a legislative briefing at the Centenary United Methodist Church at 411 East Grace Street in Richmond. That will be followed by a vigil to remember victims of gun violence at the Bell Tower on the Capitol grounds. Finally, we will move inside the General Assembly building to speak with our legislators about efforts to reduce gun violence.
